The Federal Bar Association annual membership cycle runs October 1 to September 30, and membership renewal is now available online. Renewing with the FBA today will ensure that your membership benefits continue without interruption – but first…
IMPORTANT If you haven't yet verified your account in the FBA's new Online Portal, please do so prior to attempting to renew. Instructions to set up and verify your FBA account are found at https://members.fedbar.org/welcome. You only need to set up your account once, but the key step is clicking on SET UP AN ACCOUNT at the login screen and then completing the one-time account verification process.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL Once your account is verified, you can now pay your renewal dues at this direct link to the FBA Online Portal and selecting "Renew as an Individual Member". Before submitting payment, you may wish to consider upgrading your FBA membership to Sustaining Membership, to donate to our Foundation, or to enroll in Renewal Autopay in the new system (note: any prior Autopay election was reset in the system transition). Again, please make sure that your account is verified before attempting to renew.
If you have any questions about your renewal, please review the Renewal FAQ or submit a ticket at our online Help Desk for the most efficient service.
Would you prefer to renew by check, receive an individual invoice to pay online, or get a consolidated invoice for all members at your firm? email fbaneworleans@gmail.com and let Debbie know. We will gladly arrange for an invoice. Logging in to your profile is not required if you choose to pay by check or consolidated firm invoice.
** PRO TIPS FROM THE NOFBA **
** Please think of this as if you are logging in to a company for the first time and establishing an account. I know it is frustrating because you feel like you have an account, but you don't have one with the new system. Once you reestablish the membership relationship by setting up and verifying your account, all of your information from the old database will appear.
** This new process uses the same email you used to log into the National membership database in the past. If you have changed firms and have a new email address, but didn't change it with the FBA, reach out to our office. If your office email does not work, did you change your FBA account to a personal email?
** You will receive a verification email when you try to log in for the first time to verify your account. Attorneys who ask their assistants to handle this process, please be sure they have access to your email or that you are in the office when they undertake this task.
** From a member who has already completed this process - verify your account, then log out. Log back in to make the payment or set up autopay.
** If you had autopay in the past, the information DID NOT carry over to the new system. You will need to reestablish your autopay.
** If you have 2 emails on your FBA profile such as a work email and personal email, you must verify both to get access to your account. The system will send verify emails to both accounts, and you need to act on both of them.
** If you have questions or problems, please contact the New Orleans Chapter office. We are here to help!
