Challenges to Judicial Independence CLE
Judge Paul Grimm will open our session with a discussion of our current judicial environment and how we got here. Our second hour will be a panel discussion moderated by Judy Perry Martinez of Simon, Peragine, Smith & Redfearn, LLP. Her panelists will include Judge Grimm along with EDLA District Judges - Chief Judge Wendy Vitter, Judge Susie Morgan, and Judge Jane Triche Milazzo.

From Behind Bars to Taking the Bar: A Jailhouse Lawyer’s Journey…
Calvin Duncan is the founder and director of the Light of Justice program, which is focused on improving legal access for incarcerated individuals. He will recount his journey from being a defendant to graduating from law school and the role played by jailhouse attorneys.
